Tow car of the year 2008

Postby johnDUB on Fri Oct 03, 2008 1:42 pm

The skoda superb 2.0 TDI as won the title this year. This is the second time a superb as won, as in 2003, the v6tdi took the title.
The test was judged by the caravan club, and cars where tested under varying situations.
In the under 1800kg weight section, the Tiguan 2.0 tdi 4 motion auto came second.

The V6 TDI is a great tow car.

I dropped a trailer at a job the other week, came back about 2 hours later to pick it up and the buggers had loaded about 2.5 tons of rubble on it.

I hadn't got far to take it so I thought it'd be ok. The old girls pulled it no problem at all. Good job I was going through 30mph speed limits though, cos if I went any faster I would never had been able to
stop

In tiptronic form, the v6tdi performs admirably. I drag a caravan regularly with mine and it's never short of power. Economy sucks, but i find driving in tiptronic mode helps.
