VNT Turbo's:- Guide to keeping it happy using Millers oils.

Above is a typical turbo fitted to a VAG group TDI engine.
To give good torque and power spread, VAG fits the Garret VNT turbo chargers. These Turbo's have no wastegate, but instead, vanes which guide exhaust gasses onto the turbine, but these vanes adjust in angle as shown in the pic below.

Living in the hotside of the turbo, you can clearly see why after a period of time the turbos vane mech gets sticky. VW blame this on poor fuels, but I've had to free of my second now at 25000 miles, and I only use Shell Diesel Extra.

Independant tests basically all say the same thing about this Turbocharger, that in real life, it needs a good work out along with an additive in the fuel.
Two scenario's:-

You pootle around with your TDI for mpg like I do. Resulting in sticky vanes.

You live on the motorway flat out every day, resulting in sticky vanes.

Both these finding's indicate the vanes live most of their life in one position, which to be honest isn't the drivers fault.

The cure.

This product works, not instantly, but after 250 miles or so.

You fill up, and ad the correct amount but in a double dose.
You then drive as normal but with Italian Tune Up's interspliced.

After 250 miles, you'll notice a new if not better response and more mpg.

Myself and dizzy use this and have excellent results from it.
My V6TDI gives atleast 4 mpg more on local runs and upto 8mpg on a long distance run. Not much, but at 2.5, V6 and Tiptronic, 36> 42 mpg is something I have never had from new.

> Italian Tune Up:- Lots of high revs and bouncing off the limiter. Clears it out!
Snow what if you jump a 50 ft cliff..
Snow what if schuss a 50degree couloir...
... Cos it really doesn't matter...
