Right thats the wiper sorted.

I bought one from the dealers for a B6, which is much shorter. I now have one from VAG parts which they list as an upgrade for the B5. I'm not sure what it is off, but at least I can see where I've been now.

On the wheel front, as soon as I've got through the tyres, the originals will be going back on. I seem to be using more fuel, and it seems to much of a coincidence not to be to do with the new wheels. Bloody cheap reps are about as much use as a one legged man in an arse kicking competition. They must weigh more than the original rims and are taking more turning. Ride has suffered and it tramlines like a bad un.

If I can keep em away from the kerbs, I should get a good price for them on the bay I reckon.

Bloody cold this morning.

Went out to the cars this morning to de-ice them.

Peugeot 307 HDI first. That seemed very slugish to start. It did the same thing last week after a very cold night, and needed to be jumped with the Passat. I tested the battery, and found that it was low on one cell. I put it on charge, and it has been fine until this morning, so today, I bought a new battery.

Passat next. After a long wait for the heater plug light to go out (V6 TDI with old school non pd) it started but was running as rough as fu*k so I turned it off. Tried again and it started first time and ran fine settling down to it's 750rpm tickover, then BEEP!!!!! "EMISSIONS WORKSHOP" accompanied by the engine managment light and a flashing heater plug light. I didn't worry too much about this cos it had done it a few weeks ago and sorted it's self out. Anyway, got out, shut the door, or at least tried to. The door was just bouncing back. I checked the latch by closing it with a screw driver, and it seemed fine. Tried to shut the door again, no good, so I left it. Can back out about 5 mins later. Tried the door, and it shut. Turned the ignition off, started it again, all fine. :?

Last but not least 1989 Golf GTI. Got in it, started it and drove off

Dont you just love modern cars?
