Here is my other car

its a rather tatty 1.6 3 door driver

but its gonna be good again, Rally/track day spec

planned mods:

new seam welded wishbones
new wings ( hopefully bubble style arches if i can find any)
stripped interior
custom dash (no heater just gauges)
wide steel wheels
refurbed suspension components
coilovers
and a few tweaks to the engine

just a basic list to start, this will be a long thread ever step recorded hopefully

Looks like you've got lots of work there to do, but sooooooooooo much fun.

watch for the no heater,my derby didnt have one,ended up putting it back in,winter was a mare,steaming up all the time.

is there anyway i can get round that, i dont want all that weight and i want the engine bay minimal

thing is the heater box on golfs is huge,and the dash hides it.dont know what you could do.
maybe a smaller heater box made out of ally?? be nice n shiny.

depends on whether you will use it all year.knowing what our climate is like,i reckon you will need it.

somewhere that does the bits for race cars.cant think of any names as yet,brain pickled!

get yerself a kit car mag.i know a lot of people use old mini heaters,small n compact.

grand idea, will look into this more

couple more photo's. getting the strip out going. also removed some dodgy 80's alarm from the car..... scotchlocks everywhere.... but it still works





still no joy in finding a garage to put the G60 in so i can get started properly on FUMF
